Overton County, Tennessee Between 1800 and 1810, Peter Arney moves his family here, where he will die in 1845.
Lincoln County, North Carolina 1787, Peter Arney is bound over to a John Fullenwider, until the age of 21, to learn the trade of a miller.
Wythe County, Virginia Around 1793, Peter moves here, marries and starts his family.
Jacob Arney lived in York County, Pennsylvania until 1767. Many of Peter's siblings were born there. In 1767, Jacob Arney moved his family to North Carolina, including Peter's 17 year old brother, Christian. Ironically, 17 years later Jacob Arney would die in Lincoln County, NC (1784). Though it seems hard to understand this route was not uncommon back in those days. Many people followed this same path, from Pennsylvania to North Carolina to Virginia to Tennessee. Especially since land wise they were all in close proximity to each other and land grants were given in one state for another state. The question that we desire to answer is: Where did Jacob come from?
