| Johann Heinrich "Henry" Arney, Sr. Was born November 21, 1755, in York(town), York County, Pennsylvania. He moved, with his family, to the area of Tryon County, North Carolina, around 1767. In June, 1775, married Maria Magdalena Fulk, in Surry County, North Carolina. By the 1st US Federal Census of 1790, they reside in Stokes County, North Carolina, where they reside for the next 30 years. Around 1820, He moves his family to the area of Owen County, Indiana, where they are among the first residents of Jefferson Township. In his home, the Bethel Church is created. September 27, 1830, He dies in Jefferson Twp., in Owen County, Indiana, and is among the first to be buried in the Bethel Church Cemetery. |
